ok so Deviantart tells me it's 14 years old today. In internet terms, that's a lifetime.
I don't have much of a story though. I signed up when I was at uni cos everyone else was doing it I guess (much like drugs*).
This was the first thing I submitted. Look at it! Drawn with a laptop touchpad.
You would have thought that after 9 years, I would have gotten MUCH better at drawing.
just learned a few more bits of software I suppose.
This is the last thing I shoved up:
But still, I keep plugging away, uploading bits of crap here and occasionally some work that someone actually paid me to do. I guess the fact that people pay me to draw stuff is a good sign, and I suppose I owe DA some thanks for that by keeping me drawing and practising when I've got little other incentive to do so.
Oh but also, it's given me the opportunity to gaze with jealousy upon the works of other, much better artists; the chance to say nice things to people sometimes, about their art, and also goof around; and more importantly, to start fights with people who are being utter arseholes, and sometimes just have arguments for the sake of it.
Whatever. DA is cool, and I'll keep using it until one of us dies.
Wow. those images are big.
